A wooden box is a very handy thing to have. When you would like to build one it is important to think of the size of the box that you are looking for and draw a picture of it. Make sure that you pay close attention to the height, depth, and how much you would like your box to weigh.
Once you have figured out the size of your box and have drawn a picture of it you will then need to go to a hardware store and purchase your materials. The amount of materials that you will need will depend on the size of the box in which you are going to build. Some of the things that you will need is 3/4″ plywood, a table saw, measuring tape, framer square, pencil, hammer, 6D nails, nail set, wood glue, and 100 grain sandpaper. You will need to measure and cut out your wood according to size. Once you have cut the pieces you will want to paint or stain them before putting them together.
Once the paint or stain has dried you will then want to begin assembling the pieces of your box. You will need to lay the pieces on the floor keeping the like pieces together. You will first want to take one of the sides and the back and glue the edge of the back piece as it fits inside the four pieces to make the box. Then tack it together with the hammer and the 6D nails though do not hit the nails in all of the way. You will then need to repeat this for the other side piece again not hitting the nails all the way in. You will then need to put glue on the edges and then you will need to hammer the nails all the way in to complete the box. You will then be ready to begin using your box once the glue has dried.
